To me, making peace is a gift. It's a gift that allows me to reflect God's great and reckless love for humankind. I know this to be true because I did not create myself. As funny as that sounds. It is true. We were created and then released into the world. From the very beginning God had a plan to bring heaven on earth. It is important that we identify this gift because it shares great purpose. That we were created on purpose for a purpose. We were not created on accident.
Some may say, Peacemakers avoid conflict. While that may be true in worldly standard, it means something different in biblical standard. To be clear, peace in the bible is not to be confused with pacifism, it is not the absence of conflict.
Instead, peacemakers are open to reason, not open minded. For open to reason and open minded hold two different meanings. The peacemaker is not someone who avoids conflict at all costs; they are the ones who seek to be peaceable and to share the gospel (good news) of peace. They are great listeners and seek to understand. Thus, they are open to reason, but not willing to compromise Gods truth and his gospel. We must seek the truth in order to pursue peace in our lives. With the dark world that we live in, it is my duty to share and bring the light.
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
